We all love top tens as they tend to cut through a lot of the stuff that we might not want to read and let the cream rise to the top. In this section we list our top ten travel tips but we have lots more in the research and advice section on how to travel with children, where to stay, what to pack, how to entertain the kids and medical and security and issues when travelling with children.
Why ten and not five? Well firstly we think that parents who are travelling with children need all the help they can get and top tens are very popular worldwide. Most of the world's mathematical systems use a base of ten and we have ten fingers with which to count so it is as good a number as any.
Top tens are by their nature arbitrary though and we would love to hear from parents who have their own top tens (or top fives or even top threes) on the parent travel forum if they have any travel tips that they would like to share with other parents on how to travel with the kids, where to go for family holidays, keeping the kids entertained, family accommodation, favourite family friendly restaurants or child friendly days out with the kids. In fact the forum is about pretty much anything you think will be of interest to the family travel community.
