Kelly’s Hotel, Rosslare, Wexford

Kelly’s Hotel is a legend among families and rarely puts a foot wrong when it comes to family friendly facilities. They are a great option for all members of the family from babies right up to grannies. They are booked out for weekend’s months in advance and bank holiday bookings are made each for the following year on check out and for preferred weeks in the summer.

Families are accommodated in the family rooms or in interconnecting rooms. All meals are included including afternoon tea and there is also a baby supply room including sterilisers. They have an excellent balance of adult space and family space and the leisure facilities include a two pools, crazy golf, table tennis, a games room, fantastic grounds for toddlers and younger children to explore and one of the best locations in Ireland only a few steps away from a long sandy beach. There is a separate supervised crèche area for young children and lots of activities in the kids club including puppet shows, face painting, discos, and movies after tea, arts and crafts, ball games, storytelling and sporting tournaments against parents and staff for the older children. There is a special children’s high tea as well and parents can often be seen in their bathrobes for this after a great swim in the pool with the kids.

A nice feature for parents who do want to get away from it is that the Seaspa really is stunning and you get the impression that you are miles away from all the family fun in the hotel even if it is just for a few hours. Ferrycarraig Hotel, Wexford

The Ferrycarraig hotel in Wexford has a lovely location on the River Slaney and is also another family favourite. Families are accommodated in well-equipped family rooms which have bunk bed options or in adjoining rooms and there is also a baby station for guests. There is a leisure facility with a 20m swimming pool, a gym and health and beauty facilities.

The hotel runs a Baby Clubbers crèche for children up to four years of age and a Crazy Clubbers kids club for children aged four to twelve. During school holidays the Crazy Clubbers kids club is open during the week but only on a Friday evening and on Saturdays outside school holidays and peak times. Activities include ball games, face painting, board games, puzzle competitions, arts and crafts and mini tennis. Carlton Millrace and Hotel Spa, Wexford

The Carlton Millrace hotel is located in the picturesque Wexford town of Bunclody on the edge of the beautiful Hall Dare estate with magnificent parkland and riverside walks along the River Slaney. The hotel's location is ideal for a break away in the sunny southeast of Ireland and accommodation for families include 12 family suites which include two bedrooms, two bathrooms and open plan living area. These suites are always high in demand so book early.

The hotels facilities include a leisure complex with an 18 m swimming pool, a gymnasium, sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi and a spa the C Spa which has a dedicated relaxation area. They is plenty to see and do for adults and children alike in the southeast and in the immediate area.

The hotel offers a complementary kids club for children over the age of four during school holidays to entertain the children while parents relax in the spa or the restaurants. The kids club starts late in the afternoon when the children meet with the camp leaders and swim in the pool. Quality Inn Wexford, Wexford

The Quality Hotel and Leisure centre in Wexford is located in the sunny south east which is renowned for its pretty harbour towns, mild temperatures and magnificent blue flag beaches. It is a three star hotel just five minutes from Wexford town designed in a contemporary manner. Families can be accommodated in double, triple or family rooms and a family room accommodates one double bed, one single bed and one pull out bed. There is a lot to see and do in the area for families including the Hook lighthouse, the Irish National Heritage Park, the Dunbrody famine ship and of course the great beaches.

The hotel features a leisure centre the Club Vitae open to children only until 7 p.m. each day. Facilities include a 20 m swimming pool, a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, gymnasium, children's pool and a beauty salon. A games room, cinema room and 18-hole crazy golf course are scheduled for 2008.

The hotel runs a children's club, the Dolphin Club during school midterms and summer holidays. Morning sessions for children under three at 9:30 a.m. in the hotel creche with the variety of games and activities. Older children between 3 and 11 are accommodated from 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Activities include face painting, competitions, music, fun and games, splash time, arts and crafts and outdoor activities. There is a high tea at 5:30 p.m. for children of all ages in the restaurant and then evening activities. Babysitting can be arranged individually after 7 p.m. One session in the kids club per day is free and thereafter at €3.00 per child per hour. The Newpark Hotel, Kilkenny

The Newpark Hotel is located just outside the medieval city of Kilkenny city and has just undergone a five million euro refurbishment. It is a very popular hotel with groups, families, individuals and locals alike.

The Newpark Hotel caters for families particularly well with a small playground, a well equipped leisure facility which includes a kids pool, a kids club in the summer months for children aged 3-12 from 4-8pm so mum and dad can have a break and an uninterrupted early dinner and family rooms as well as interconnecting rooms and suites. The Talbot Hotel, Wexford

The Hotel is located overlooking the quay front in the heart of Wexford. Families are accommodated in family rooms which accommodate two adults and two children. Children are charged at €25 per child bed and breakfast. The hotel facilities include the quay leisure centre which features a swimming pool, gymnasium, steam room and sauna.
The hotel runs the Talbot Tigers kids club which is open to residents and members of the leisure club. This features a fully supervised playroom with activities running in three sessions each day morning, afternoon and evening during school holidays. The Glenview Hotel, Wicklow

The Glenview Hotel & Leisure Club is in a lovely location in the scenic garden of Ireland. It is within a 10 minute drive of Powerscourt House & Garden & some of Wicklow finest golf courses. Dining facilities include the Woodlands Restaurant with magnificent views overlooking a Glen.

Families are accommodated in spacious family bedrooms catering for up to 4 children and also a number of interconnecting family rooms to cater for up to 6 children. There is an action packed Delgany Kids Club with activities for children is available during mid-term and summer breaks.

Mount Wolseley Hotel and Holiday Homes, Carlow

Wolseley Holiday Homes are luxury self-catering properties situated in the grounds of Mount Wolseley Hotel, Spa and Country Club and its famous 18 hole Championship Mount Wolseley Golf Course. This is a resort with something for all of the family. The holiday homes have 4 bedrooms - one double ensuite, two twin bedded rooms and one single room with a separate bathroom (sleeping up to 7 people).

You can stay in the Hotel or the Holiday Homes. The Abbey Court Holiday Homes are located in the grounds of the Abbey Court Hotel Nenagh. Families have a number of choices for accomodation. There are twelve five bedroom houses comprising three double bedrooms ensuite, one double bedroom one single bedroom (sleeping up to 9 people).There are also two eight bedroom houses with 5 double ensuite bedrooms, 1 king bedroom,1 double and one twin bedroom ensuite. Killerig Hotel & Golf Resort, Co Carlow

The Luxury Lodges at Killerig Hotel & Golf Resort are part of the development at Killerig in Co. Carlow. There are forty eight 3, 4 and 5 bedroom lodges in the resort, configured differently to suit all types of guests including families. There are three bedroom golf lodges sleeping five, four bedroom golf lodges sleeping seven and five bedroom golf lodges sleeping nine. All have fully equipped kitchens and dining rooms.
