A special family camping and cycling activity week is promising to deliver the ideal holiday solution for many single parent families. Launched this year by Go Camping UK and running for one week only from the 15th August at its coastal site near Cromer in North Norfolk (UK) the camping and cycling specialists have created a new activity holiday which they believe provides value and great fun for action seeking single parent families.
The holiday offers a blend of cycling based activities within a social camping atmosphere with the aim of creating a relaxed friendly group. The group is fully catered for with all meals freshly prepared and cooked on site – camp style. Accommodation is provided by Go Camping UK’s quality ready pitched tents, offering comfortable and spacious accommodation for families up to five in separate areas within the tents.
The cycling activities include guided family rides to the Norfolk Broads and Norwich, a family based cycle treasure hunt and a new photo orienteering activity. Most cycle rides are a modest 20 or so miles but have convenient options to shorten the route with families free to opt in or out as much as they please.
Away from the cycling activities families can also expect to find a host of games and activities organised by the Go Camping UK team on the campsite. These include, as an example, a frozen T-Shirt competition, challenging teams to be the first to wear a t-shirt which has been frozen in a block of ice.
The holiday is not exclusive to single parents but with a mix of adults and children within the camp single parents and their children should find their evenings (often the most difficult part of being a single parent on holiday) are a pleasant social occasion with children playing games with each other, teenagers mooching as they do and adults free to enjoy some high brow conversation or able to find the space to read a book.
Go Camping UK have also removed pricing barriers that many bigger companies have in relation to their family rooms which ultimately restrict parents with just one child. Go Camping UK are glad to provide accommodation for all as Ian Peet, the director of the company explains. “We have customers of all types and we always like to say yes whenever possible. We are not a huge organisation therefore find it easier to adapt ourselves to individual’s needs. Where many companies charge supplements for small families we don’t and I think it makes us different and personal.”
Prices for one week on Go Camping UK’s Camping and Cycling Activity Week cost £329 per adult and £249 per child. The price includes all meals, a fully equipped tent, bicycle and activities. All activities are backed up with guides or assistance nearby. Go Camping UK can organise pick up from Cromer railway or bus station or guests can arrive by car. Sleeping bags and pillows are not included, but can be provided for an additional £25pp.
