Packing list for hand luggage when travelling with a baby or toddler
Take a good solid bag to carry all of the things you will need if you have a baby or a toddler. Here are our top tips for what you should bring:
- All of your travel documents as suggested here
- Lots of changes of clothes for both you and the baby
- Lots of bibs
- Nappies/diapers-enough for the journey and to cover you if your main luggage goes with it astray
- A disposable changing mat
- Muslin Cloths
- Nappy creams
- Nappy sacks
- Powder dispenser with milk powder/travel sachets
- Pre-sterilised bottles
- Snacks
- Water
- Food
- Small plastic bags with a zip up for wet items and half finished snacks
- Calpol and any other essential medical supplies but see our article on hand luggage and prohibited substances
- A thermometer
- Small toys/crayons and colouring books for older toddlers (see our how to keep them occupied article)
- Food in small jars (be prepared to have to taste them at security)
- Bottles of water/beakers/boiled water for feeds
- Spoons
- Wipes
