Europe with Kids Clubs

Here are a few suggestions for holidays that provide good kids club facilities. All of these suggestions have age appropriate clubs or activities if the kids want some organised activities but more importantly they all are used to accommodating families with young kids and treat them as priority.

They are our just our picks though and we would love to hear from you on our forum if you have any other great holiday experiences have found other places that gave a warm welcome to children and delivered good facilities and services for kids.

The Forte Village, Sardinia

The Forte Village Resort is set within 25 breathtaking hectares of pine forest and subtropical gardens. It is next to a dazzling white beach on the southern tip of Sardinia. This luxurious resort with its impressive range of leisure activities and distinctive restaurants, offers the very best of Sardinia to families. There are seven hotels in the resort and a dazzling and fabulous choice of rooms, suites and bungalows scattered between lushly landscaped gardens, sports grounds and swimming pools. A word of warning though It is a high cost and a top end property and you really needs to have a good spending budget while staying here. Also check the standard of accommodation as it can very considerably.

There is a wealth of restaurants offering a vast range of cuisine; from Italian to Brazilian as well as the culinary acclaimed Laetrile and even a dedicated children’s restaurant open for lunch and dinner. Nightly entertainment at the Piazza Maria Luigia is perfect for a family evening. Facilities include 10 floodlit tennis courts, a putting green, a go-cart track, an outdoor ice-skating rink and a host of water sports will occupy the whole family. For adults the jewel in the resort’s crown is the Thermae del Forte Village Spa, one of the finest health centres in Europe.

Children will have plenty of fun in the three kid’s pools, two of which are landscaped and located in the Mini Club. Activities for children and teenagers range from the traditional arts and crafts to games on the beach, train rides, karaoke, go-kart, treasure hunts, basketball and golf lessons. There is a kids club 2-11yrs (free of charge) teens club 12-17yrs and a nursery 0-2yrs (from €15 per hour) from mid May to September. The Anassa Hotel, Cyprus

The Anassa Hotel enjoys a stunning location on the unspoilt northwest coast of the island and offers elegant and refined spaces in which to relax. The guestrooms are located in the main building or in one of the individual residences that are dotted around the immaculately landscaped gardens. The family studios provide excellent and spacious accommodation with the one-bedroom studios sleeping up to two adults and two children. Interconnecting rooms are also available.

The Dolphines Club is open from April to October for children aged from four to eleven where they can enjoy an extensive range of activities such as cooking, painting, games and off-site excursions. Guests can make use of a number of complimentary water sports such as parasailing, canoeing, windsurfing and jet skiing. A fine array of health and beauty treatments are offered in the breathtaking Thalassa Spa, Children can benefit from early dining times and will enjoy the choice offered by the specially designed children’s menu. This is an excellent and luxurious resort that is ideal for relaxation and pampering as well as an excellent selection of children’s activities. Sheraton Algarve Pine Cliffs, Falesia, Portugal

Sheraton Algarve Pine Cliffs in Falesia is encircled by pine trees and overlooking a white sandy beach with clear blue waters and offers the ultimate in comfort and leisure facilities. Families can stay in the hotel in interconnecting rooms and suites in the hotel or in apartments in the hotel grounds. The town houses have a lot of stairs and some may have bannisters that are not suitable for young children. It features the expected five star facilities and a manageable nine hole golf course with some stunning holes overlooking the sea.The beach is beautiful with red cliffs framing it but there are steep steps to the beach as referred to above.There is a lift but it only goes some of the way and buggy access is not possible.

There are fantastic facilities for children including several dedicated kids pools, family dining, beautiful grounds to run around, direct access to a stunning beach and a fenced and dedicated children's play area the Porto Pirata. This is an exciting space where children can enjoy a swimming pool, bouncing castles, a basketball court, karts and bicycles and a life sized pirate galleon. It also has minigolf and organised opt in activities for teenagers such as football games and a games room. The Porto Pirata kids club chargeable on site and is open from April to October for children from six months to eight years. Children can participate in activities such as arts and crafts, games, swimming or cycling and treasure hunts. Vila Vita Parc Resort & Spa, Porches, Portugal

Vila Vita Parc Resort & Spa in Porches enjoys a cliff top location and superb sea-views over the Atlantic Ocean. The whole family can be kept busy by the multitude of activities on offer including the five pools, the beautiful beaches, and the health club with interior heated swimming pool, sports programs and the spa. The hotel offers great children's facilities and families are accommodated in either interconnecting rooms or family suites. Children's books DVDs and videos can be organised on request and there are great sports and leisure facilities. The resort offers a number of kids clubs. Natalies Crèche is for infants from 6 months to 3 years old, while Annabella’s Kid’s Park can entertain children from 4 to 11 years old. There is also a teenager's club which runs a number of teen activities for children aged from 12 and above during July and August with activities including volleyball, snooker, football and beach games.
