Heritage include Athlone Castle and Clonmacnoise and then there is of course the Shannon with boat cruises, fishing, water sports etc. About a 10 minute drive from the hotel is the highly recommended Glendeer Pet Farm which includes a coffee shop, outdoor play and picnic area, information on the workings of an Irish farm and fabulous farm animals. Glendeer Pet Farm opens every year for the Summer season from Easter Week through to the end of September.
